Privacy notice
Last updated 1 October 2026
This notice explains what happens to your data when you visit this website. The short version: we don't ask you for anything, we don't set cookies, and we don't run analytics or advertising trackers.
No cookies, no analytics
The site sets no cookies and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. There are no accounts, logins or forms, so we don't collect your name, email or any other personal details.
The radio stream
Whenever a page of this site is open, your browser checks our own streaming server (stream.trax-radio-uk.com) about every 15 seconds to see what's playing, so that server receives your IP address. When you press Play, the audio is sent from the same server, which keeps your IP address briefly and deletes it in a nightly wipe. It also keeps an approximate city and country, worked out from your IP address, for anonymous listener statistics.
Album art: iTunes lookups and a local cache
To show album art, your browser sends the current artist and track title to Apple's public iTunes Search service. Apple receives your IP address with that request, as with any website. Artwork images are then loaded from Apple's servers.
To avoid repeating lookups, the result for each track is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. It holds only track names and image links, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser's "clear site data" setting.
Mixcloud and Twitch players
Some pages include players from Mixcloud (for past shows) and Twitch (on our Twitch page). Mixcloud players load only when you scroll to them; the Twitch player loads when you open that page and starts paused. Once loaded, these players come directly from Mixcloud or Twitch, who may set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies: Mixcloud privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and Twitch privacy notice (opens in a new tab).
Links to other sites
Links to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Mixcloud, our sister stations and radio directories take you to sites with their own privacy policies. If you message us on Facebook or Messenger, Meta's policies apply to that conversation.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
